APS provides specialist insulation assessment of rotating electrical machines, including motors and generators, using partial discharge diagnostics, insulation-condition review and engineering interpretation to support reliability, maintenance planning and failure-risk reduction.
Specialist insulation assessment of rotating electrical machines, including motors and generators, using partial discharge diagnostics, insulation-condition review and engineering interpretation to support reliability, maintenance planning and failure-risk reduction.
APS provides specialist rotating machine insulation assessment for motors and generators where insulation condition, operational reliability and long-term asset performance are critical.
Rotating machines are exposed to combined electrical, thermal, mechanical and environmental stresses during operation. Insulation deterioration may occur due to ageing, thermal cycling, vibration, contamination, moisture ingress, overvoltage stress, poor winding support, manufacturing defects, slot discharge, end-winding discharge or surface tracking.
Partial discharge activity in rotating machines can provide important diagnostic evidence of insulation degradation in stator windings, slot regions, end-winding areas, phase connections and high-voltage terminals. If not identified and managed, these defects may progress into winding failure, forced outage, production interruption or major asset damage.
The assessment can be applied during commissioning, planned maintenance, condition-based monitoring, outage inspection, post-fault investigation or life-extension review. Testing and interpretation follow recognised IEC, IEEE and CIGRE-based principles for rotating machine insulation diagnostics, including phase-resolved discharge interpretation, noise discrimination, trend assessment and correlation with machine design, operating duty and service history.
APS provides rotating machine insulation assessment services for projects where winding condition, insulation performance and asset reliability need to be evaluated.
These services are suitable for rotating machines where insulation condition needs to be verified, monitored or investigated.
The objective of rotating machine insulation assessment is to identify insulation deterioration before it develops into winding failure, forced outage or major equipment damage.
APS supports clients by assessing discharge activity, reviewing likely defect mechanisms, identifying insulation ageing indicators and determining whether continued operation, further monitoring, maintenance intervention or repair is required.
The assessment supports maintenance prioritisation, outage planning, life-extension review, commissioning acceptance, reliability improvement and asset-risk management.
By combining partial discharge diagnostics, rotating machine insulation knowledge, site-testing experience and recognised IEC, IEEE and CIGRE-based engineering practice, APS helps clients reduce machine failure risk, improve asset confidence and make informed decisions on maintenance, repair and continued operation.
